Funeral services for Joyce Louise Allison, 79, long-time Wagoner resident will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Wagoner with the Reverend Eric Allen and the Reverend Wayne Naugher officiating. Joyce was born March 17, 1930 in Pensacola, Florida. It was there as a teenager that she met a young Navy seaman, Frank Allison. They were married on May 2, 1946 and later moved to Oklahoma, before settling in Wagoner in 1958. Joyce was a wonderful homemaker and passionate about her family, her home and her church. They were devoted members of the Nogales Ave. Baptist Church in Tulsa before moving to the First Baptist Church in Wagoner. She and Frank many times anonymously gave to the church and to those in need. Joyce served in the church nursery and helped to provide for many families, working in the church kitchen over the years. Surrounded by family, Joyce went to her heavenly home Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver ‘Buck' and Eva Bradley; her husband, Frank Allison in January, 1994 and two brothers, Chuck and Jimmy Johnson. She is survived by her three sons and their families, David Allison of California, Rick and Sharon Allison and Gary and Dana Allison all of Wagoner; nine grandchildren, Angie, Brent, Justin, Julie, Cody, Kyle, Corey, Emily and Casey; 10 great-grandchildren, Lani, Logan and Luke Falwell, Jordan and Jace Allison, Alli and Raylee Jo Taylor and Braden, Gavin and Rylee Shaye Allison; a brother-in-law, George Allison and his wife, Mary Jean; two sisters-in-law, Donna and Betty Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Joyce's grandsons will serve as her pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers are the wonderful caregivers who helped her over the past two years. Memorials may be sent to the Wagoner First Baptist Church Building Fund.
