Gillian M. ‘Dottie' Blake, 91; of Clarksville
Funeral services for Gillian M. "Dottie" Blake, 91, of Clarksville, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, at Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, Clarksville, with burial in Walnut Ridge Cemetery. She died Monday, Jan. 26, 2009, at Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Todd County, Ky., but moved with her husband to Louisville in the early 1940s. She worked at the old Donaldson's Bakery for several years, but spent her entire life as a devoted housewife and mother. She was a dedicated caregiver to her parents and husband during their times of illness. She was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church in Louisville and Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, Clarksville.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Blake and his wife, Shelly; and two grandchildren, Brittany Renae and Dennis Alexander "Sal" Blake; in addition to nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Alton Blake; her infant daughter, Janice Kay; her parents, Vinson and Mallie Brown Bradley; and her sisters and brother, Lillian Johnson, Mandy Chaney, Nora Vee Silvey and Everett Bradley.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, at Chapman Funeral Home, Clarksville, and after 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Morton Memorial United Methodist Church, 435 Eastern Blvd., Clarksville.
