HENDERSONVILLE - Henry Austin Bradley, Sr., 91, of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 1, 2013. He was the son of the late Clarence Bradley and Sarah Middleton Bradley. He was also preceded by four brothers, Walter, Arthur, Archie, and Preston Bradley; one sister, Margie Morgan, and one granddaughter, Linda Elaine Glenn.

Mr. Bradley was a highly decorated WWII Veteran and served in the South Pacific and the Solomon Islands. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and was a true patriot and Christian gentleman. He lived Matthew 6:1, seeking to serve others without recognition. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Juanita Bradburn Bradley; two sons, Austin Jr., and David Bradley, of Charlotte; one daughter, Carol Ann Starr (Clyde), of Gainesville, FL; six grandchildren, Cynthia Rivers (David) of Simpsonville, SC, David and Daniel Starr of Jacksonville, FL, Thomas Starr (Kathryn) of Gainesville, FL, and twins, Sarah and Emily Bradley of Charlotte; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Courtney and Abby Rivers, and Landon and Gabriel Starr; three brothers, Robert Bradley (Sarah) of Athens, TX, Harold Bradley (Iola) of Tuxedo, and Wayne Bradley (Libby) of Saluda; two sisters, Willie Johnson and Faye Mullinax, both of Saluda, and a multitude of nieces and nephews, near and far.

A Private Memorial Service was held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with full Military Honors by the Henderson County Honor Guard, Patriot Guard, Jeff Miller and Mike Murdoch. He was laid to rest under the watchful eyes of the Patriot Guard Riders and his loving nephews.

The officiating minister was Pastor Carroll Poole.
