A funeral service for Mrs. Belle Bradley Groah, 92, who died at 5:15 a.m. Wednesday at Waynesboro Community Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Memorial Chapel of McDow-Tyree Funeral Home.
The service will be conducted by the Rev. Marvin Kerby and the Rev. Vernon Berry. Interment will be in Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Steeles Tavern.
Mrs. Groah was born on Feb. 5, 1877, in Montebello, a daughter of the late William P. and Polly Phillips Bradley. A member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. Groah, in 1932.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lora Belle Campbell of Waynesboro; six sons, Robert S. Groah and George F. Groah, both of Vesuvius, William H. Groah of Philadelphia, Pa., Louis H. Groah of Grottoes, Thurman L. Groah of Weyers Cave, and Clinton B. Groah of Waynesboro; 13 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Campbell, and Linwood, Melvin, Wayne, Robert, Erskine, Paul, and R. Junior Groah.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Cullen, Howard Groah, Richard Gale, George Coffey, John Dedrick, Glen Desper, Lester Ramsey, Peyton Fitzgerald, Verlin Groah, Everett M. Campbell and James Mohler.
The family will receive friends at McDow-Tyree Funeral Home from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight.
