Mrs. Amanda Keiser, Pioneer, Passed Away At Home of her Daughter Early Tuesday
A brief illness with pneumonia following a general breakdown in health due to infirmities of advanced age, resulted in the death of Mrs. Amanda Bradford Keiser, 78, esteemed resident of this county for 57 years and mother of former County Recorder Warren Keiser, Tuesday morning at 2 o'clock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Wm. Michaels, 1415 McPherson avenue.
The funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 from the home of the daughter, Rev. Victor Peterson, pastor of the Trinity Evangelical church, will officiate and burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The body was taken to the Tschumy mortuary and prepared for burial and will be removed to the Michaels home Tuesday evening. Friends are asked to omit floral offerings.
Five children in a family of nine survive. They are Mrs. Michaels, Warren Keiser, Ballville, Ellis Keiser, Fremont, Mrs. G. W. Miller and Clayton Keiser, Toledo. A brother, Oliver Bradford and a sister Mrs. Lucinda Tyson, of Spring City, Pa., also survive as well as 17 grandchildren and 12 great grand children. A son C. L. Keiser died June 6, 1929 and three children died in infancy.
The late Mrs. Keiser was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bradford and was born Aug. 29, 1852 near Royers Ford, Pa. She married in 1870 to Amos D. Keiser near Spring City, Pa., and the couple came to Sandusky county four years latter [sic] in 1874. They resided first near Clyde and then in Fremont for a short time before locating in Jackson township where they lived thirty years. Since the death of her husband two and a half years ago, Mrs. Keiser had made her home with her children. She was a member of the Brethren church near Bellevue and also at Tiffin for many years and a woman widely known for her many noble qualities, a loving mother, good friend and neighbor.
