Lois was the eldest daughter of the late Malcolm and Ifa Guthrie Braden.
She shared a beautiful life in Anadarko with her husband Vernie. Together, they owned and operated Bailess Plumbing & Heating and Broadway Pawn Shop for more than twenty years.
Lois relocated to Austin in February 2010 to be closer to her family.
Spending time with family, playing bridge with friends, participating in the Philanthropic Educational Organization of which she was a member, and attending her beloved First Christian Church were activities for which she was most passionate.
She had a wonderful wit, infectious smile, and immeasurable love of family, friends, and community.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Vernie; her sister, Peggy; and grandson, Braden.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Claudia Bailess; daughter, Kathy Williams; grandchildren Julie Pedraza, Carrie Rodriguez, Blaine Bailess; and great-grandchildren Cole Pedraza, Reece Pedraza, and Nekoe Rodriguez, all of whom live in Texas.
In leiu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Christian Church of Anadarko, 212 Southwest 2nd Street, Anadarko, OK 73005.
Services will be held at the First Christian Church of Anadarko with former pastor Richard Cox, officiating on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, under the direction of the Steverson Funeral Home.
