Lillian E. Baker BRAINTREE Lillian E. (Brackett) Baker, 92 years of age of Quincy formerly of Braintree, entered Eternal Life at the Hancock Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Quincy on Monday July 6, 2009. She was born in Atlantic City, NJ and was raised in Claremont, NH. She was a graduate of Stevens High School. Lillian had resided in Braintree for 50 years before moving to Quincy 6 years ago. She had been employed by Weston Heights Rose Garden and then by the Chapman Waterproofing Company in Boston for 17 years. Lillian was a volunteer for Songtime, a musical program produced by Reverend John DeBrine. She was a member of the Braintree Chapter of the AARP and an active member of the Gideons for over 50 years. She was a loyal member of the Central Baptist Church in Quincy Square for over 65 years serving in many offices. Lillian was the wife of the late G. Bernard Baker to whom she had been married to for 68 years. Mr. Baker passed away in August of 2007. She is survived by her loving son Ronald Baker and his wife Sally Baker of Weymouth. She is the devoted grandmother of two grandsons James Baker of Nashua, NH and Jeffrey Baker married to Suzzanne of Quincy and a granddaughter Cathy Shields of Quincy. Lillian is also survived by three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Donna S. (Baker) Verbeck. A Memorial Service Celebrating Lillians life will be held at the Central Baptist Church, 65 Washington Street Quincy on Saturday August 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service in the Church hall. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will be private at Blue Hill Cemetery.
