MACON - Arlton Richard Bracewell, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11A.M. Saturday, July 10, 2010 with burial at 4P.M. in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Thomasville, Georgia. The Rev. Jack Gregory will officiate.
Mr. Bracewell, son of the late Cecil E. and Ruby W. Hammock Bracewell, was born in Donalsonville and following high school, served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was postmaster retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Hahira and was a member of Northway Church in Macon where he was also a member of the Sunday School. Mr. Bracewell was an avid golfer and a devoted baseball and football fan. He was preceded in death by his brother, M. R. Bracewell of Thomasville.
He is survived by those he loved most, his wife of more than ten years, Margaret H. Bracewell of Macon; his children, Ricky (Denise) Bracewell of Thomasville, Marcus (Mary Alice) Bracewell of Cairo, Teresa (Tim) Donalson, Thomasville, Michael R. Gay and Tami (Tommy) Booth, all of Macon and Kelly (Jim) Lewis of Forsyth; thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; his brothers, Carlton T. (Ann) Bracewell of Cairo and Milton L. (Mary) Bracewell of Ochlockee; his sister-in-law, Evelyn Trayan Bracewell of Thomasville; several nieces and nephews.
