Lucy Bishop was born at Moldentown, west of Tipton. but had lived most of her life in the Now Hope neighborhood, where for years she was a leader in the New Hope church and a woman loved and respected by all.
Mrs. Bishop was the daughter of Rev. George and Mary Bozell
and was born Nov. 1, 1854. She has one brother who is living in the west and there are also four half-brothers, John Bozell of Summitville, and Amos, George and Walter Bozell of the New Hope community. There are also two sisters, Mrs. Melissa Bolton and Mrs. Alice Farley, living
north of Atlanta. She was married on Dec. 11, 1873, when a young woman to John Bishop of the New Hope community.
He died 48 years ago.
There were four children in the family, George Bishop of Arcadia; John and Bonnie at home and a daughter who died when very young. Also surviving are two grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
