Lavern Boysen, 70 years of age, of Hebron, Nebraska (formerly of Oxford, Nebraska), passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at the Thayer County Hospital in Hebron. He was born on August 21, 1940 in Kearney, Nebraska, the eldest of four children born to Andy and Anntje "Anna" (Jelkin) Boysen.
Throughout Lavern's life he faced many challenges courageously and was able to overcome both physical and mental insufficiencies to live life to the fullest. His childhood years were spent at Mid-Nebraska Individual Services in Beatrice, Nebraska. At the closing of this home, he moved within the Mid-Nebraska Individual Services System to Oxford, Nebraska, where he resided most of his life. This past year, Lavern resided at the Blue Valley Care Center in Hebron. Throughout his years with Mid-Nebraska he enjoyed doing maintenance work such as yard work and snow removal. Lavern also enjoyed traveling throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Inez Mae Boysen; and one niece, Kassandra Boysen.
He leaves to mourn his passing his two brothers: Frank Boysen and his wife, Carol of Holdrege, Ted Boysen and his wife, Marlene of Eddyville, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
