WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Shirley Belle (Boynton) Marcotte, 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Baystate Medical Center.

She was born in South Pomfret, VT, on August 11, 1927, to the late Faye (Baker) and Earle Boynton.

Shirley was raised in Woodstock, VT, and was a graduate of Woodstock High School.

She settled in Westfield, MA, in 1967. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Westfield and Our Lady of the Lake in Southwick.

Shirley will be remembered for the strong love she had for family and her love of music and dancing. She was very creative and enjoyed doing crafts and was an accomplished seamstress.

Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald Marcotte in 2009. She leaves her loving children, Gregory Marcotte and his wife Mary of W. Springfield, Amy Albano and her husband Paul of East Longmeadow, Laurel Wallace and her fiance Thomas Cagan of Westfield, Thomas Marcotte and his wife Lynn of Hamilton, MA, Melanie Marcotte-Feinberg and her husband Lyle of Wilbraham, Daniel Marcotte and his wife Rose of Olympia, WA, Michael Marcotte and his wife Barbara of Granville, James Marcotte and his wife Sarah of Mashpee, MA; her adored grandchildren, Jason, Andrea, John, Brennan, Ryan, Adrienne, Peter, Amber, Julia, Nicole, Taylor and Kyle; her great-grandchildren, Colleen, Joelle, Rose and Christopher; and her brother Donald Boynton of New Britain, CT. Shirley was predeceased by her son Christopher Marcotte in 1975, her granddaughter Rebecca Wallace in 2011, and grandson Nathan Arnold in 2002, as well as her sister Myrris Baldwin.

The funeral will be Tuesday, April 10, 2012, from 9 to 10 a.m. at The Toomey-O'Brien Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 224 Sheep Pasture Road, Southwick. Burial will follow in New Cemetery, Southwick, MA.

Calling hours will be Monday, April 9, from 4 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Baystate VNA and Hospice, 280 Chestnut St., Springfield, MA 01104; or to Western MA Alzheimers Association, 264 Cottage St., Springfield, MA 01104.
