Death: Sep. 30, 2006

Andrew Don Boyne, the first-born son of Craig Lee and Karen Mariah Boyne of Sapulpa, born August 23, 2000 and died on the evening of Sunday, September 30, 2006. He is survived by: his proud parents; his brother, Peter Craig (4); and sister, Gemma Therese (1). He is also survived by his grandparents, Don and Mary Louise Boyne of Sapulpa; and Don and Cathleen Hanisch of Tulsa; his great-grandmother, Charlotte Boyne; his aunts and uncles, Terry and Laurie Boyne, Jon Boyne, Kris Boyne, Sr. Margaret Mary Hanisch, F.M., Sr. Immaculata Hanisch, O.C.D., James and Eileen Hanisch, Michael and Ann Hanisch, Jeff and Amanda Hanisch, John and Sharron Hanisch, Chris Hanisch; and 20 cousins. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Saint Augustine Catholic Church, located at 1720 E. Apache, Tulsa. The Mass of the Angels will be offered at Holy Family Cathedral, located at 8th and Boulder, at 11 a.m., Friday, October 6, 2006, by the Reverend Peter Byrne, FSSP, at which the Most Reverend Edward J. Slattery, Bishop of Tulsa, will preside. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, with funeral arrangements provided by Fitzgerald Southwood Colonial Chapel. Andrew was an exceptionally intelligent and articulate child, who loved learning, and enjoyed continually re-reading the Little House on the Prairie books. Mommy will miss reading with him and home-schooling such a bright student. Cowboy Andrew loved the outdoors, always watching for birds and the neighborhood turkeys and riding his stickhorse, clad in his red cowboy boots. Peter will miss his faithful friend and constant companion, and the hours spent playing together with Thomas the Train and "doing construction" in the backyard or "making smoke" by kicking up the dirt. Little Gemma will miss the love and guidance of her big brother, who cherished and watched out for her. Daddy will miss "Slick" in the many ways he helped him in the garden and to get ready for work; he will miss his waves from the window, his little notes and daily calls at work to say "I love you, Daddy." He will be remembered as being full of laughter and fun, and especially for his angelic nature. He and Peter would often place roses cut with their Daddy from a backyard bush at their shrine to the Blessed Virgin, and would often process through the house with candles and sinning hymns. They took turns serving each other's "Masses" offered at a home altar, with their own little vestments and chalice. While he is gone from our sight, he lives in Heaven with Our Lord and His Holy Mother, whom Andrew loved so much. And he will live in our hearts until we can be together again in Heaven with our little saint. The Boyne family asks that friends desiring to send a sympathy token would in lieu of flowers, make a donation in Andrew's memory to the Monastery of Our Lady of the Annunciation at Clear Creek, 5804 W. Monastery Rd, Hulbert, OK 74441. When God Calls Little Children to dwell with Him above, We mortals sometimes question the wisdom of His love. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold, So He picks a little rosebud before it can grow old. So when a little child departs, we who are left behind Must realize God loves children... Angels are hard to find.
