June 24, 1925 - Mrs Esther Stout Boyle, mother of the Boyle brothers north of Livermore, passed away June 15 at the home of her daughter Mrs Mary Henderson of Frazer, MN. She was born in 1835 at Fountian, IA, being over 91 at the time of her death. She moved with her parents in 1852 & married William Boyle November 5, 1854 in Hardin county.
She was the mother of 5 boys & 6 girls: Frank, Sam C., Maggie, Mary, Wm. E., Julia, Kizzie, Richard, Dora, John and Lizzie. The husband & father died in 1874 at the age of 49. She moved to Livermore with her children in 1882. In 1882 during the diptheria epidemic, she lost 5 of her children in order named: Richard, Lizzie, Kizzie, John and Julia in one month. She lived with her sons Frank & Sam until a few years ago, when her mind failed and since she has lived with her daughter in Minnesota.
Three brothers were present at the funeral J M Stout of Spencer; G F & J A Stout of Eldora; & a sister of Sioux Rapids. She was laid to rest in the Union Cemetery.
