Birth: Dec. 9, 1955
Death: Dec. 20, 2013

Born December 9, 1955 to the union of the late, Emmett and Mildred Lewis Boykin in Heard County, Georgia; the 10th child of 10.

She was educated in the Heard County School System, and after the death of her mother, she was entrusted to the care of another "mother", Mrs. Julia Luke, who also preceded her in death.

Sharon accepted Christ at an early age and after moving to Chicago, she joined the Greater Bethesda M. B. Church under the leadership of Pastor David Watkins, III. Every Sunday, she faithfully and happily served on the Senior Usher Board, the Kitchen Committee for the homeless, and The Owls. Sharon loved arts and crafts and honed those skills as a student of the Crazy Crafter Club under the guidance of her teacher, Denise Rowell-Glasper. Sharon was one of Denise' top students, whatever the assignment, Sharon did it; making beautiful butterfly cards and posters for everybody! She also loved theater, particularly the Black Ensemble Theater of Chicago, where she was affectionately called, "Sis" by the founder, Jackie Taylor. She was affectionately known as "Tee-Tee" by a host of her adopted nieces and nephews in Chicago. Special friends in Chicago: Mrs. Henrine Sloss, Mrs. Barbara Neal, Mrs. Addie Epps.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord: Sharon entered the presence of the Lord on Friday, December 20, 2013.

She leaves to cherish her most precious memories: one son, Clinton Lamar Boykin; one grandson, Lamarcus Jequan Boykin; a loving and devoted sister, Mrs. Nell (Walter) Dowell, Sr.; honorary sisters and brothers whom she was reared with: Laura Luke, Peachtree City, GA; Calvin (Evaleane) Luke, Lutherville, GA; Floyd Luke, Jr. and Nathaniel Luke, LaGrange, GA; two children she helped rear as her own and loved dearly, Derami Sutton and Taylor Milligan; sisters-in-law, Mrs. Martha Lewis, Franklin, GA; and Ms. Betty Boykin, LaGrange, GA; nephews: Jeffery (Nancy) Boykin, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Jerome Lewis, Fredrick and Eugene Ellis, Metter, GA; Dewayne (Angie) Lewis, Thomaston, GA; Pierce Lewis, Jr. and Greg Lewis, Franklin, GA; Theotis Dowell, Pastor Walter (Veronica) Dowell, LaGrange, GA; Tony Mason, Chicago, IL; nieces, Angela (Michael) Copeland, LaGrange, GA; Kimberly Foster, Cynthia Manson, Chicago, IL; Hildred (Roy) Truitt, Sunnymead, CA; Jeanette Collins, Metter, GA; Aliya (Mike) Quick, S. I. NY; Gloria Jean Gray, LaGrange, GA; Arlisa Lewis, Atlanta, GA; LuGenia Lewis, Franklin, GA; and a host of other great nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

The Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Sardis Baptist Church with Pastor Walter Dowell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
