Mr. Alexander Boykin, 95, of 2961 Boykin Bridge Road, passed away on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

A homegoing service will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 1 p.m. at Big Piney Grove Church with the Rev. Ray Bolton officiating, burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Clinton with military honors.

Alexander was born in Sampson County in 1918 to the late Alexander and Maggie Jane Conley Boykin.

He joined Cedar Creek Baptist Church and the United States Army, serving in World War II.

Alexander was preceded in death by brothers, Clifton Boykin, Furman Boykin, Arthur Boykin, Willie Boykin; sister, Elosie Sampson; and grandsons, Kevin and Donnel Murphy.

Alexander leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Gladys Moore Boykin of the home; daughters, Barbara Murphy of Clinton and Maggie Draughon of Clinton; sons, Elliott Boykin of Clinton, James (JB) Boykin of Lumberton, Robert Boykin of New Jersey, Eddie Boykin of Clinton and Gary Boykin of Raleigh; sister, Eve Bell Whitted of Clinton; and brother, Leslie Boykin of Clinton.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 2-7 p.m. with family present from 6-7 p.m. at Hope Valley Funeral Service & Cremation at 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.

Services have been provided by Hope Valley Funeral Service & Cremation.
