THE PARIS NEWS, 14 Jul 1964: 'Mrs. M. W. Boyers, 86, of 954 Lamar Ave., died Tuesday at 12:55 a.m. in St. Joseph's Hospital after two years ill health. Funeral service, Wednesday at 4 p.m. will be held in Fry and Gibbs chapel by the Rev. Glendell Jones of First Methodist Church, where Mrs. Boyers was a longtime member. Interment is arranged in Evergreen Cemetery.

Born at Wills Point, 7 Dec 1877, Mrs. Boyers, the former Sue Hale, was a daughter of James M. and Marian (Carter) Hale. The family moved to Paris when she was a child, and she was graduated from Paris High School in 1898. She was a member of the Friendship Class of First Methodist Church, and of the Naioth Bible Club and the Coterie Club, women's study group here.

She was married in 1900 [his records says 7 Dec 1899] to Maurice W. Boyers, who died 3 Mar 1957. He was a longtime partner in the Boyers Printing Company, now operated by their son, James R. (Jimmy) Boyers here. Other survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Carl Moore, Lake Valhalla, N.J., and three grandsons, Carl Moore, Robert Moore and Larry Boyers, all living in New Jersey.'
