DEATH OF MBS. BOYERS.
Wife of Jason Boyers Expires After Prolonged Illness.
Mrs. Lizzie M. Boyers, wife of Jason Boyers, died at her home at the corner of German and Gay
streets Tuesday afternoon, after a prolonged illness of consumption, with other complications.
Her condition had been regarded as critical for a week or more and her death had been expected for several days.
Mrs. Boyers was the second wife of Jason Boyers and before her marriage was a Miss Paxton, a sister of Thomas Paxton, of Stokesville.
She was between 50 and 55 years of age and had resided in the vicinity of Harrisonburg during the greater part of her life. She was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church.
Surviving her are her husband, several sisters and brothers, and five step-children.
The funeral was held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from the house.
The services were conducted by Rev. John Ruff, pastor of Cooks Creek Presbyterian church, in the absence of Rev. Dr. B. F. Wilson.
Interment was in Woodbine Cemetery.
