A pioneer resident of Charlestown, Lucien was the son of William and Mary (Miller) Boyer.
As a young man he worked in his father's blacksmith shop, and in the late years, succeeded to the business. He married Eva (Nickles), in 1893, and was a deacon and trustee of the Charlestown Christian Church. He died at his Charlestown residence.
