Edna M. Boyer, daughter of William and Mary Sullivan McCarty was born in rural Republic County on June 4, 1887, and passed away at her home in Belleville, Kansas, on February 6, 1981, at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 2 days.
She attended the Blue Mound School south of Byron, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Leonard L. Boyer in November of 1911, and to this union one son, Thomas E. (Pat) Boyer was born.
She was a telephone operator at Byron, Nebraska for several years. She moved to Belleville in 1954.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leonard, 2 sisters, Kitty McCarty and Bertha McClure, and one grandson, Thomas A. Boyer.
She is survived by one son, Thomas E. (Pat) Boyer and his wife, Mary of Chester, Nebraska, one grandson, Jim Boyer and his wife, Connie of Fairbury, Nebraska, one granddaughter-in-law, Lois Boyer of Borger, Texas, five great-grandchildren, Scott and Patricia Boyer of Fairbury, Nebraska, Brenda, Lynda and Judy Boyer of Borger, Texas, one sister, Mrs. Goldie Taylor of Louisiana, several other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 9, 1981, at 2:oo P.M. at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Memorial Chapel of Belleville, Kansas conducted by the Reverend Loren Silsby. Interment was made in the Washington Cemetery, south of Byron, Nebraska.
Pall bearers were Kieth Frye, Edwin Dittmer, Ray Roland, George Schukar, W.I. Navis and Roland Grueber.
