Antonette "Anta" Boyer, 78, of Aurora, died on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at the Virginia Regional Medical Center.
She died after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was born on Feb. 5, 1933, in Aurora, to Anton and Olga (Zeleznikar) Berdice. She attended Aurora High School. On Feb. 10, 1951, she married Francis Boyer at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Aurora. She worked at the Arrow Shirt Factory and as a home health care aide for 29 years. She was a past president of the Aurora Legion Auxiliary and was a co-chairman of the American Heart Association for three-and-a-half years. She enjoyed spending time at their cabin at the Whiteface, gardening, cooking, making potica, puzzles, going to the casino, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three children, Robert (Lani) Boyer, Linda (John) Otto, Michael (Val) Boyer; four grandchildren; special grandchildren, Jessica (Trent) Pemble and Chuck (Heather) Salmi; 10 great- grandchildren; three sisters, Flossie Telin, Barb Vovodnik, Roberta Klekotka, brother Timo Berdice; four aunts, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Antonette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Francis on Jan. 15, 1991.
