CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Harold W. Boyden, 79, a resident of Menno Haven and formerly of Parkesburg, Pa., died Wednesday, July 29, 1998, at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born July 23, 1919, in Todd, N.C., he was the son of the late Lillard and Amanda J. Grimes Boyden.
He was preceded in death by his wife, M. Frances Lee Boyden, in 1988.
He retired in 1989 from Schneur's in Parkesburg after more than 10 years of service.
He was a former member of Newlinville Mennonite Church, Coatesville, Pa.
He is survived by two daughters, Effielow B. Fleagle of Chambersburg and Clemmie J. Richards of Washington, D.C.; two sons, Forrest D. Boyden of Westminster, Md., and Wallace L. Boyden of Lancaster, Pa.; a sister, Bertha Cox of Independence, Va.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.
Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Pastor Harold R. Engel will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.
The viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to services.
