Maudie Lucille (Lucy) Biggs, age 79, of Ashland City, Tenn., passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville with her family at her side.
She was born on Jan. 29, 1931, in Cheatham County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde R. Boyd and Beulah Morris Boyd; and her husband, Shirley Biggs.
She is survived by her loving family: sons, Roy (Debbie) Biggs and Buster Biggs; daughters, Jean (Bob) Perdue and Linda Frazier; brothers, C.L. (Cliff) Boyd, Alma Boyd, Kenneth (Ivalou) Boyd, Fred (Marie) Boyd and Marvis (Peggy) Boyd; sisters, Ruth Crabtree, Jenny Stanley, Dot (J.B.) Newman and Faye Davis; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010, at Cheatham County Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Saturday, March 27, 2010, from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2 p.m.
Funeral services are on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Leon Edwards officiating. Burial is in Krantz Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Steve Biggs, Brian Biggs, John Gibbs, Bryan Summers, Tony Haines and Matt McKinney.
Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters Donna Gibbs, Delaine Summers, Darla Elam, Valerie Haines, Lindsey Frazier, Dona Biggs, Lori Biggs; and great-grandchildren Gage Summers, Emma Biggs, Brennan Biggs, Ethan Biggs, Kendall Gibbs, Jazmin McKinney, Chloe Elam and Kaylee Biggs.
The family wishes to express heartfelt and grateful thanks to Dr. Robert Rhea, Connie Lockert and Angela Boyd for care they gave and showed to their mother.
Cheatham County Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
