In Memory Of
Linda Louise Hamby Boyd
October 14, 1948 - October 1, 1985
I have missed you so hard and for so long
it seems I dont know much else. It only
seems like yesterday that you went on
ahead of us, but it has been 20 lonely years.
I have your pictures, your old letters
from friends and family that you held
dear while you were here in this life.
Little pieces of paper, pressed flowers, I
kept it all. I have memories of your smile
and love you gave. I have one of your
granddaughters, of whom was named
after her grandmother, you.
I have your grandson, with that same
sweet, giving, and unselfish loving heart
and spirit, as you. But I dont have you
Momma I know you made me promise I
would be strong and go on without you, but
I have broken most of that promise every
There have been so many lonely days
passed since I saw you last.
I have grown from teenager, to adult,
been a husband, and blessed to be a daddy.
I have laughed and cried, been hurt, and
loved. Lonely, and befriended. Cautious
and mindful, and at times, done more
things that I care to remember. But not one
day has passed that you were not on my
Its been a hard road without you
Momma, but GOD has been with me
through every one, as you always said he
He has helped through bad days, comforted
me in sad ones, and has dealt with
me, when I wasnt the son you knew I
could, or would have wanted me to be.
If life could only bring again, to hear your
voice was just a call away. What Id give
for just some time.. to do the things we did
back then. I store those precious memories
in my heart.
Mother I miss you, at night I just wish
you were here with me, so we could laugh
and talk again, I thought our time would be
much longer, Im missing my best friend.
The little things that seemed so small, are
now like gold in a memory vault, I cherish
every one I have of you.
In GODs design and master plan, he saw
the hurting hearts of man, as we would say
goodbye to those so dear, so when my time
here ends, well be together once again,
well view heavens splendor, hand in
Life will never be the same, with you not
here, each passing day, has brought much
pain. With GODs grace my strength
remains. I write this only for me, for those
who knew you to remember, and those
who didn't to know.
I miss you...
With all the love my heart can hold.
You Son, Brian
