"Barbara Welch Boyce, 91, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Windsor, wife of the late Robert M. Boyce, died Thursday (May 25, 2006). Born June 3, 1914, in Windsor, daughter of the late Frederick Augustus Welch and Claire Elizabeth (Hall) Welch, she was a proud 1931 graduate of the then Chaffee School. Barbara moved to Florida in 1948, where she was a homemaker and from 1948-1968 welcomed many guests as the proprietor of the Boyce Guest Home in St. Petersburg. With a zest for life, her later years were spent traveling to many countries throughout the world. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Barbara J. and Warren Ribecky of Eagle, WI and Martha W. and Bob Bruce of Palmetto, FL; grandchildren, Robert Keane of Menomonee Falls, WI, Shelby Holste of Benson, NC, Lynn Flom of Cedarburg, WI, and David Bruce of Los Angeles, CA; and eight great grandchildren. Other special family members dear to her include sister-in-law, Ann Welch; and nephew Robert Welch, both of Richmond, VA, niece Sarah Stroebel of Avon; and her beloved poodle, Amie. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Wednesday, July 26, 11 a.m. at the First Church in Windsor, Congregational, 107 Palisado Avenue, Windsor. Committal services will follow in Palisado Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Gulf Coast Oncology Foundation, 1201 Fifth Avenue No., Suite 505, St. Petersburg, FL 33705. The Carmon Windsor Funeral Home is caring for the arrangements."
