Jonathan Earl Boxell, 58, a retired farmer of Jackson Township, Wells County, and a resident of Warren since 1936, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Huntington County Hospital where he had been a patient for one day. He had been in failing health for four years.
Mr. Boxell was born January 3, 1905 to Charles and Annola Wolfgang Boxell in Wells County. He married Johnina Long, August 3, 1929, in Warren.
Mr. Boxell was a member of the First Methodist Church in Warren and was a steward in the church.
Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Monna) Wilson, Huntington, and Miss Deanna Boxell, at home, a son, William L. Boxell, Warren, six grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Fremont (Inez) Love, of Warren, and Mrs. Esther Ochsenrider of Litchfield, Mich., and a brother Ernest Boxell, of Warren.
The body was taken to the H. Brown and Son Funeral Home where friends may call. Funeral services will be held today, Friday at 2 p.m. in the First Methodist Church, with the Reb. John Dicken officiating. Burial will be the Jones Cemetery in Wells County.
