Pearl E. Alexander, 89, a longtime resident of Norcatur, died Friday, June 6, 2003, at the Decatur County Hospital.
She was born Sept. 23, 1913, in Fostoria, Kan., one of six children of Corrie and Maude (Abbott) Bowser. The family moved to the Oberlin area when she was very young. She attended Vallonia Grade School and Decatur Community High School.
She married Glenn Alexander on Aug. 26, 1931, in Norcatur. They lived on a farm near there until 1954, when they retired and moved to Norcatur. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Norcatur and Energetic Eight Club.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn; two daughters, Maryllin and Jay Locy, Norcatur, and Beverly and Barry Lintz, Syracuse, Ind.; seven grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Howard Bowser; four sisters, Ann Cook, Lily Brounaugh, Iva Eisenbach and Dorothea Guinn; and a grandson, Craig Locy.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at the United Methodist Church in Norcatur. Pastors Charles Keller and Brooks Koble officiated and burial was in the Norcatur Cemetery.
