Newspaper Obituary: A.D. Bowman Dead:

Former Marshall of Centralia Passes Away at Home of Son North of this City

A. D. Bowman died Saturday night, June 9, 1934 at the home of his son, Harry Bowman of north of Centralia following an illness of several months.

Aged 82 years, 5 months and 17 days, Mr. Bowman had been in very bad health for months.

Adam Bowman, son of Adam and Frances Bowman was born in Pennsylvania, December 23, 1851 and moved to Illinois with his parents at the age of two years, where he lived until 1877 when he located in Missouri.

He was unified in marriage to miss Betty Shryock in February 1883, who preceded him in death March 25, 1921.

Two children, Harry L. Bowman of Centralia, Mrs. Etta E. Winn of Columbia and sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren survive him.

He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Phoebe Moore of Algona, Iowa, and one brother, William Bowman of Des Moines, Iowa.

Deceased united with the First Christian Church in this city thirty-five years ago and lived in this faith until death.

Mr. Bowman served as city marshall in Centralia a number of years ago. He lived for a time in Texas and then moved to Columbia. For the past five years or more he had made his home in the farm with his son. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at the First Christian Church at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. C. Allen Burrus. Interment in the city cemetery.
