Lenore E. Bowman Alm, 77, died at 10:15 AM Monday, May 10, 1999, in her residence; she had been in failing health. Born in Chicago on July 17, 1921, she had resided in Lafayette since 1948. She married Charles H. Alm on June 26, 1948, in Chicago, and he survives.
Mr. Alm is a retired teacher from Lafayette School Corporation. Mrs. Alm graduated from Senn High School in Chicago, received her bachelor's degree from Chicago's Teachers College and her master's degree from Purdue University. She taught for six years in Chicago, two years in Lafayette, and 18 years for the Tippecanoe School Corporation at Klondike Elementary School in the second grade.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, the National Education Association, Indiana State Teachers Association, and the Tippecanoe Education Association. She enjoyed playing the piano, fishing, and reading.
Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Janet E. Anderson of Providence, UT; two sons, David C. Alm of Brookston and Robert C. Alm of Lafayette; a sister, Delma Mundell of Willowbrook, IL; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Service May 14 in Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Craig LaSuer officiating; internment Spring Vale Cemetery.
