Mary Catherine (Steeby) Bowman, 98, of Amazonia passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at a health care facility in Savannah.

Mary Catherine was born on September 7, 1917 to the late Roy and Bertha (Garner) Steeby in Andrew County, Mo. In February 1938 she married Ernest Bowman in Savannah, MO. He preceded her in death.

She worked at Schweizer's Apple house and was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Ora Rebekah Lodge # 704 of Amazonia for 50 years.

Mrs. Bowman was also preceded in death by daughter in-law; Margaret Bowman, sisters; Octavia Ricker, Iola Lewis, Louise LaCroix, Esther Wilson, Faye Lawrie and Garnet Steinman, brothers; Raymond, Dillon and Bill Steeby, and one great-grandson, Steven L. Black.

She is survived by sons; Ernest and Walter (Cathy) Bowman of Savannah, MO. and daughter; Margaret (Jim) Black of King City, MO. Grandchildren; Jane Caskey, Billie (Darin) Bergmann, Ernest James (Beverly) Bowman, Amy (Dave) Phillips, Rebecca (Walter) Honea, C.J. (Jessica) Bowman, Rusty (Karie) Black, Steve (Kim) Black, Robin (Ray) Veale, Cindy (Dwyane) Williams, Doug (Dana) Black, and Lesa (Bob) Eiberger.
Thirty six great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Services; 1 p.m. Monday, November 9, 2015 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel where the family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday. Interment Savannah Cemetery.
