Son of Carlton and Rebecca Madden Bowman No know burial location. Brother of Joseph Bowman found in Find a Grave in Farmington Cemetery Belmont Co Ohio.

Richard is one of 15 children born to Carlton and first wife Mary "Polly" Wineburg(h) and second wife Rebecca.

Company "K" 6th West Virginia Cavalry. Originally enlisted in Company C 2nd W. Va. Infantry. The 2nd Infantry became the 5th W. Va. Cavalry and he served in Companies "K" & "C". The 5th Cav was combined with the 6th Cav and he served in Company "D."
Civil War.

A Review of the D.C. showed several errors. It list his father as "Carlington" Bowman and mother as Rebecca Honenker. However we have the marriage license from West Alexander , PA that she was Rebecca Madden.
