CHICKAMAUGA - Elizabeth Elaine Merritt Bowling, 60, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at her residence.
She was a member of Garretts Chapel United Methodist Church. She worked as a nurse for nearly 30 years and was a member of the American Nurses Association. She was a dual member of the Eastern Star's Marthada Chapter #190, where she served as past matron, and Summerville Chapter #424.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Merritt.
Survivors include her mother, Ethel Merritt of Chickamauga; daughter, Crystal Bowling of Chickamauga; grandson, Dalton Shields; sons and daughter-in-law, William "Beaver" and Connie Merritt of Wildwood, Ga., and David Bowling of Chickamauga; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherrill and Jerry McWhorter, Judy and Charles Roddy Hopkins, both of Chickamauga; brother and sister-in-law, Homer and Betty Merritt of Lookout Valley; several nieces and nephews.
