Ruth Marie Bowles, 93, formerly of Chadwick and Morrison, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at Good Samaritan Center in Prophetstown, where she had resided since 2008.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. on Monday, May 14, at McDonald Funeral Home, 520 Holcomb Ave., Milledgeville. Graveside services will follow at 2:15 p.m. at Chadwick Cemetery.
She was born on May 14, 1918, in Hillsdale, the daughter of Jacob and Mary Riewerts. She married Albert M. Bowles on 12 Feb 1942. He preceded her in death in October of 1993. She and her husband had farmed in the Chadwick area, retiring to Morrison in 1982.
Surviving are her daughter, Vianne; grandchildren, Carmen Wood (Jody), Todd Carroll (JoEtta) and Shawn Carroll (fiancee, Kerrie Meskimen); five great-granddaughters and three great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Bette Lou; and two sons at birth, Donovan and Donald.
