CLEARFIELD – Berry "Lee" Bowers, 51, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011. He was born January 28, 1960 in Orlando, Florida to Walter and Blanche Medley Bowers.
He married Wendy Halbert on August 7, 1987 in Ogden, Utah. They later separated but remained good friends. He and Sheila Bocanegra have been companions for the last 16 years.
Lee was a spiritual man who was originally from South Carolina where he was a crabber fisherman for many years. He then worked for Maverick for ten years and has been with Young Chevrolet for the last four years in the parts department. He was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Falcons, the Utah Utes and the Utah Jazz. He loved watching and supporting his sons play rec/high school sports, and he was grateful for every minute of it! Lee enjoyed celebrating holidays, barbequing, and watching movies with his family. Spending quality time with family and friends is what he cherished the most. Lee was a man of few words, but always had a smile and kindness for everyone that he knew.
Survived by his children: Heather (Mike) Halbert, Nicole (Edward) Halbert, Lee (Lindsay) Bowers, Andrew (Britlie) Bowers, three grandchildren, Alivia, L.J. (Lee Jr) and Austin. Also survived by Mom and Dad Halbert. Preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one grandson, Gage.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., at Myers Roy Mortuary 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Inurnment in the Roy City Cemetery.
