Mrs. ANNA MINNIE BOWERS, widow of Robert Bowers, of near Frederick, died at the Frederick County Emergency Hospital Thursday morning after an illness of six weeks, aged 72 years. She was the daughter of the late Strather and Melinda Jenkins Shaffer.
She is survived by the following daughters and sons by former marriages: John H. Shipe, Martinsburg, WV; Wilmer Shipe, Harrisonburg, Va.; Mrs. Catherine Shroyer and George Miller, both of Martinsburg; Mrs. Virginia Shirkey, Richmond, Va.; Mrs. J. Francis Davis, this city; two brothers, Newton Shaffer, Baltimore; Milton Shaffer, NY city; and one sister, Mrs. Martha Pence, New Market, Va.
Services were held at the M.R. Etchison and Son funeral home; interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
