Mr. Grover Cleveland Bowers, age 83, of Faulkville, GA, passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Savannah, Georgia.
Mr. Bowers was born December 21, 1930 in Savannah, Georgia. He served twenty-four years of service with the United States Army and later worked at Security Life as an insurance salesman for twenty-years.
Mr. Bowers loved deep sea fishing, camping with his kids and grandchildren, and had a passion for collecting antique clocks.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Nell Bowers of Faulkville, GA, three sons; Phillip (Maria) Bowers of Miami FL, Eric (Jill) Edwards of Guyton, GA, and Jeff (Brenda) Edwards of San Diego, CA, two daughters; Joanne Bowers of Miami FL. and Ellen (Dave) Potter of Washington State, and two grandchildren, Mark P. and Paul A. Bowers.
A Graveside service for Mr. Bowers will be held Thursday, September 4, 2014, at 11:00 am at Bowers Family Cemetery in Hampton S.C. Full Military Honors will be performed by the U.S. Army.
Arrangements under the direction of Fairhaven Funeral Home & Crematory, Garden City, GA.
