CLARENCE BOWEN
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. at the West Funeral Home Chapel for Clarence Bowen, 67, who died Monday in a local hospital. Rev. James M. Quarles of the San Jose Church of Christ will officiate.
Bowen, a resident here since 1950, was a retired auto and diesel mechanic. He had worked for the Potash Mines Transportation Co. for a number of years. He resided at 915 N. Main St.
Born on March 29, 1904, in Calvert, Tex., Bowen attended school there until 1921 when he moved to Ballinger, Tex. In 1930, he sudied auto mechanics and later diesel mechanics. He was employed at Stamford, Tex., for 12 years, prior to moving to Roswell in 1939 where he was employed by the New Mexico Transportation Co. Bowen was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his son, Clarence, Jr., of Columbus, Ga., and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Sanders and Mrs. Gertrude Wyatt, both of Los Angeles, Calif. He also had two grandchildren.
Interment will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
