1926 - 2013
Our mother, grandmother, sister and friend returned to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the age of 86.
Dona was born February 18, 1926, in Unity, Idaho, the daughter of Daniel and Ida E. Tueller Bowen. She married Jack D. Bodily on November 7, 1945, in the Logan Utah Temple. They raised five beautiful children and shared 41 wonderful years together until the untimely death of Jack, her Eternal Sweetheart on February 15, 1987. They also endured the loss of her beloved daughter, Marilyn, on August 7, 1970.
She led a valiant life serving in many capacities, as 2nd Counselor in stake Young Women, Primary presidency, Relief Society teacher, and also temple worker. She also served as a Pink Lady at the American Fork Hospital and as a hostess at the Joseph Smith Building, but her greatest accomplishment was to be the mother of her family.
Surviving are four children, RaNell (Merwin) Colman, Sandy, UT, Lynn (Janice) Bodily, Oswego, IL, Bruce (Dana) Bodily, West Jordan UT, Dan (Ellie) Bodily Lehi, UT 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held Saturday January 12th at 10:00 am at the Crescent Ridge Stake Center Chapel located at 1265 East 11000 South, Sandy, Utah. Viewing will be held Friday January 11th from 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy. (10600 S). Interment 2:30 pm Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley, ID.
