Allen C. Bowen, age 65, Colonel U.S. Marine Corp, Retired died February 4, 1981, at his home in Carlsbad, Calif., following a long illness.

Born May 2, 1915, Salt Lake City, Utah to Culbert and Mary Jean Allen Bowen. Married Virginia Fishler, January 14, 1939, in Farmington, Utah. past president, Fallbrook Calif. Rotary Club, and held responsible positions within his Rotary district. Well known water rights expert and rodeo personality in Southern California. Member of LDS Church.

Survivors: Wife, Carlsbad, California; sons and daughter, A. Gary Bowen, Salt Lake City; Shauna Jean Stott, Greenfield, Calif.; John Phillip Bowen, Carlsbad, Calif.; five grandchildren; sister, Thelma D. Smith, Twin Falls, Idaho.

Funeral services will be Saturday in Carlsbad, Calif., LDS Ward. Graveside services, Monday, 12:30 p.m. in Bountiful, Utah, Memorial Park, Friends may call Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Monday 11 a.m. to 12 noon.
