Mrs. Bowen was born on April 27, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of John J. Gerondale and Kathryn Rose Gerondale, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Beverly J. Gerondale.
Surviving Mrs. Bowen are two daughters, Belinda Bowen Bracewell, of Dothan, Ala., and Sara K. "Sissy" Bowen of Americus; a son and daughter-in-law, Hugh W. Bowen III and Anne-Marie Bowen, of Orlando, Fla.; two grandsons, Christopher M. Bracewell of Melbourne Beach, Fla., and Alexander H. Bowen of Orlando, Fla. She is also survived by Tim and Kathy Droste of Howell, Mich., and her loving friend and caregiver, Jolene Cloke of Ypsilanti, Mich., as well as other friends and relatives.
Inurnment will take place on April 18, 2009, at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit, Mich. Time is pending, but tentatively set for 2 p.m.Arrangements entrusted to the Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, Livonia, Mich.
