Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 3, 2008. She gracefully and patiently endured her long bout with a lingering illness with dignity and faith.

She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on Feb. 24, 1922 to Hertha Sorenson and Willard C. Jenson. She attended LDS Business College and Brigham Young University. Margret worked for several years as a secretary.

She married her eternal companion, Albert R. Bowen, on March 29, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they raised eight children. Margret was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother, devoting her life to her family, neighbors and friends and to serving others. Her greatest source of pride and the focus of her life was her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren always brought her the greatest joy. Margret spent a good deal of time in volunteer work at the Beehive House, LDS Hospital, and loved the time she spent as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She worked throughout her life serving in many ward and stake callings. She cherished her testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ above all and leaves a legacy of faith for her family. Margret served a full time mission in the North Central States. She loved being with people and formed priceless friendships with many that lasted throughout her life. Margret faced all life's challenges with optimism and a positive attitude, always looking for the good in everyone. She made others around her feel loved and important. She enjoyed music, cooking, travel, entertaining and reading.

She is survived by a large and loving family including children, Barbara Bowen Brunker (Ted), David R. Bowen (Karren), Beverly Bowen Walker (Michael) A. Ross Bowen (JoAnn), Robert K. Bowen (Lynda), Julie Bowen Elton (Curtis), Stephen J. Bowen (Kammie) and her brother, Spencer Jenson (Joyce) and is preceded in death by her parents, spouse, her son Mark J. Bowen. Margret leaves 32 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Viewings will be held at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 E. 1300 S. on Jan. 10, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. and at the Yalecrest Second Ward, 1085 S. 1800 E. on Jan. 11, 2008 from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Funeral Services will be at the Yalecrest Second Ward at 12 Noon on Fri. January 11, 2008.
