REGISTER - Bertie F. Bowen, 87, died Friday at Statesboro Nursing Home after a long illness.
The Bulloch County native was a lifelong resident of Register and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church near Statesboro.
Surviving are a son, Carlton F. Bowen of Statesboro; five sisters, Mrs. Annie Mae Wilkerson of Claxton, Mrs. Nita Schenk of Savannah, Mrs. Edna Hendricks of Norfolk, Va., Mrs. Mary Holland of Manassas and Mrs. Lillie Jones of Garden City; two grandchildren.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday at Ephesus Primitive Baptist Church, burial in the church cemetery.
