CLAXTON - Joann Bowen, 70, passed away January 27, 2008, at Evans Memorial Hospital.
She was a native of Habersham County, Ga., and of Baptist faith. She was a military wife for 20 years. She loved animals, especially cats.
Survivors: her husband, Charles Bowen of Claxton; her mother, Alice Jarrard of Clarkesville; one son and daughter-in-law, James and Jennie Bowen of Statesboro; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy M. Bowen and Terry Fore of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Billy Jarrard, and wife, Francis, of Clarkesville; two sisters, Becky, and husband, Ken Phillips, of Cornelia, and Teri and Dee Todd of Mt. Airy; three grandsons and three granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Wednesday, January 30, from 6 p.m. until at J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home.
Funeral: Thursday, January 31, 11 a.m. in the J. Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Ephesus Cemetery.
Mellie NeSmith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
