NAOMI MATILDA BOWDEN BENNETT BRIGHAM CITY - Naomi Mathilda Bowden Bennett was born on april 17,1920. She is the daughter of Matilda Nielsen and George Henry Bowden. She passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at home, surrounded by her family. She married Ova Chesley Bennett on May 30. 1938, the marriage was solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple in 1991. Naomi was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Brigham City 2nd Ward. She taught primary, Sunday school and relief society. She had a great love for her church. Mother worked at Bushnell hospital, Godfrey and Pioneer nursing Homes. Naomi loved to read, garden, cook and can what she grew, crochet, Knit and her association with the daughters of the pioneers. Mother's greatest love was her family. Her home was the hub for Her children & grand children. It was always let's go to Gramma's. Mother has 7 children, Richard and Sandy, Ross and Jenann, Larry and Marlene, David and Joy, Karen and Kerry Steed, Robert and Debby, Brenda and Michael Bess. 21 grand children, 36 great grand children and 3 great-great grand children. She is preceded in death by her husband Ova, sons Richard and Larry 3 grand children and 9 siblings. We wish to thank Alpine Hospice care and a special thanks to Leslie Hansen for the love and help they gave mother and her family . In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT 84302 to offset funeral expenses. Mother's service will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Brigham LDS 2nd Ward Chapel, 420 South 800 West.
