Funeral services honoring the life of Alice Bowden, 85, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, August 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home. Alice was born in Cotton Valley, LA to R.B. and Minnie Bell Stinson. Preceding Alice in death were husbands, William D. Bartholomew and Reisor M. Bowden; her parents; sister, Helen Pugh; brothers, J.D. and Leo Stinson; and son-in-law, John Domino. Alice started her career in banking at Pioneer Mortgage Company and retired from Hibernia Mortgage as comptroller after 23 years of service. Alice loved traveling and spent time in many different countries with Reisor, and later with her niece, Holly. In addition to travel, Alice and Reisor enjoyed spending time on the water and were members of the Shreveport Yacht Club for many years. Alice is survived by daughters, Sylvia Domino and Ann Abney and husband, Bill; one brother, R. B. Stinson; special niece, Holly Bristow and husband, Brian; Reisor's children, Dana Harvey and Johnny Bowden; grandchildren, Jeff Abney and wife, Susan, Jason Domino and fiancée, Tina, Melissa Abney, Michael Domino, Steven Abney and wife, Elizabeth, Shane Bowden and wife, Karen and Adam Bowden and wife, Tina. Alice is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Alice's family would like to thank Betty McMillan and Bessie Rush for all the love and care they gave in these last months, and the staff and nurses at Life Care hospital.
