MARGARET B. (PEGGY) CONNER Peggy Conner died Thursday February 18 at her home in Atlanta.
Peggy was born in Chattanooga on October 12, 1926 and grew up in Knoxville, Tenn. She moved to Atlanta in 1949 and married Dr. Thomas Conner, Jr., in 1951.
Peggy studied oil painting under Henry Barnes and also enjoyed raising and showing West Highland Terriers and Irish Setters. She was a member of Northside United Methodist Church, the Atlanta Junior League, the Piedmont Garden Club, the Atlanta High Museum of Art, and the Shepherd Spinal Center Auxiliary.
Peggy was predeceased by her parents, Agnes and Owen C. Bowden of Knoxville, and her son, Owen B. Conner. She is survived by her husband, Thomas Conner, Jr., son, Thomas Conner III and wife Nancy Vileno Conner. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at Westview Cemetery on Saturday, February 20 at 3, Dr. Ann McCord presiding. A memorial service will be held at 2 on Tuesday, March 2, at Northside United Methodist Church, Dr. Gil Watson presiding. Reception at the church to follow. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Diabetes Association or Northside United Methodist Church.
