Ida M. Bovee, 97, of Fostoria, Ohio, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at St. Catherines Care Center in Fostoria. She was born on December 7, 1908 in Carter County, Kentucky to the late John and Della (Burton) Ramey. She married John Bovee on November 16, 1935 in Bowling Green and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1978.
Mrs. Bovee is the former co-owner along with her husband of Bud's Bakery in Fostoria OH and formerly in Bryan OH. She has spent the last 30 years as a homemaker. Mrs. Bovee derived her greatest enjoyment from her children and grandchildren. Her home surrounded in the earlier years with the smells of fresh bread, homemade jelly and the sounds of grandchildren. She was an avid animal lover having had many dogs and cats and birds over the years. Mrs. Bovee will be remembered as a loving, bright and funny woman who could give a big hug to a crying grandchild then have them laughing the next minute with one of her sayings or stories a trait that remained with her till the end.
She is survived by daughter, Deanna/Jodee (John) Paxton of Fostoria; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren,; 3 great-great grandchildren.
Ida was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Patricia Spilker; sisters, Mearl Morelan, Pearl Blair, Betty DeSmith, Agnes James, Irene Clingo; brother, Henry Ramey.
Friends will be received on March 28th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Deck-Hanneman Funeral Home, where services will be held March 29 at 11am. Reverend Gene Crutsinger will officiate, interment will follow in Portage Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Wood County Dog Shelter, First Christian Church of Fostoria or to the charity of a Donor's choice.
Ida's family would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. N. Masood, her birthday buddy and friend, Melissa Crutsinger for her happy visits, her special friend Nola for her visits and especially to the staff of St. Catherine's, Ida made a lot of friends with the staff and their kindness and loving care to her and her family will always be remembered.
