"Miss Rita" as she was lovingly called by everyone, departed our lives peacefully surrounded by her family. God blessed her with the strength and faith to battle her illness for the past year. She was born in St. Amant to her proud parents, Julia and Charles Bourgeois.
She was 77 and a retired secretary, having worked at Kaiser Aluminum in Gramercy for more than 35 years.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Susan Babin and Percy and Leona Babin; five grandchildren and spouses, Kelly Naquin and husband Jason, David Babin, Bryant Babin, Corey Babin and wife Angie and Kyle Babin; two great-grandchildren, Isabel and Kennedie Naquin; and three sisters-in-law, Mildred "Billie" Bourgeois, Jo Bourgeois and Donna Bourgeois.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Julia Bourgeois; and two brothers, Alfred "Fred" and Charles "Chuck" Bourgeois.
