Warrer Bourassa, 80, of Fergus Falls, died Thursday, July 10, 2008, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.
He was born Dec. 22, 1927, in St. Paul, the son of John and Vergie (Forrestal) Bourassa. He graduated from Bemidji High School in 1945, and then attended Bemidji Teachers College. He then completed the ICS Course in Illuminating Engineering at Coyne Electrical School in Chicago.
Warren served in the U.S. Navy during World War II right after his high school graduation, and then was recalled to serve his country during the Korean War.
On Oct. 2, 1949, he married Audrey Morse in Alexandria. He worked for Otter Tail Power Company for 41 years.
He worked as a meter and relay tester, line dispatcher, and was in the sales department for over 25 years.
At the time of his retirement in 1986 he was working as a commercial marketing supervisor.
Warren was a life member and past commander of VFW Post 612, and life member and past Exalted Ruler of BPOE Lodge 1093. He also served as VFW state hockey chairman for several years,
He was active in the Elks Clown Club for 17 years, and was a life member of the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association.
He loved hunting, fishing, most sports, waterfowl print collecting, coin collecting, camping and RVing. Since 1990 he and Audrey had spent the last 15 winters in Alamo, Texas. Warren was also a past member of the Pebble Lake Golf Club.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a half-brother, Fred.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey of Fergus Falls; three daughters, Susan (Lon) Hanson of Ottertail, Debra (Mike) Barker of Springfield, Ore., and Judy (Brad) DeWald of Pelican Rapids; a son, Richard of Dilworth; 10 grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; a brother, E. Douglas Bourassa of Stillwater; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m., with a prayer service at 5 p.m., at the funeral home, and one hour prior to the service at the church
Service: 10 a.m. Monday, at St. James Episcopal Church, Fergus Falls
