Genevieve "Jean" Marion Boucher, 85, of Purcellville, died Dec. 2 at Inova Loudoun Hospital.
Born Jan. 31, 1924, in Chicago, she was the daughter of Stanley and Genevieve Stefanski.
She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1942 and from the Loyola University School of Nursing in 1946. During the Korean War she was a first lieutenant in the United States Army and served as a registered nurse in Walter Reed Army Hospital. Later, she worked for a time in Loudoun Memorial Hospital, then in nursing homes and finally for 15 years at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, retiring in 1984. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Donald J. Boucher and brother Stanley Stefanski. She is survived by her sons Donald J. Boucher Jr. of Chesapeake and Brian W. Boucher of Middleburg; daughters Mary Bright of Purcellville, Teresa Boucher of Purcellville, Kathy Evans of Midlothian, Jeanne Crow of Chesapeake, and Suzanne Meyer of Leesburg; grandchildren Melanie Blankenship and Stephen Bright of Unison; Justin and Michelle Boucher of Chesapeake; John, Karen, Sara and Kevin Crow of Chesapeake; Mary and Kerry Evans of Midlothian; Kristina Hedin of Felton, California and Corey Meyer of Leesburg; and Michael Fullilove of Richmond; great-grandchildren Emme Fullilove and Bethany and Amber Blankenship of Unison.
The funeral mass was held Monday, Dec. 7 at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Purcellville. Burial followed in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Leesburg.
