The daughter of Rose Marie Gagnon and Walden J. Thomas Boucher. Although born with spinal bifida, Carol never let it define her life. She graduated from Great Falls Central High School in 1962 and Montana State University at Bozeman in 1967 with a business degree and art minor.
She met Lawrence "Larry" Ray Lewis in Idaho and there were married on 16 June 1968 in Washington. Following their marriage, they moved to California, where their only daughter was born. The family lived in several areas of California: Eureka, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Carpenteria. In 1986 Larry died and Carol started a career in interior decoration.
Carol met Richard Accosta in Santa Barbara and they married in 1997. Together they enjoyed traveling across the country in their airstream trailer visiting family and friends. Summers were spent at their cabin in Glacier Park. Following an automobile accident in which both received serious injuries they retired to Daly City to be close to Carol's daughter and grandchildren.
"It's OK to have too much fun"
Carol was adventurous, strong and determined and kept moving through life right up to the end. She was also inventive, positive and compassionate. She said she had an amazing life filled with so many people and events she never could have imagined.
